0 critical materials scored
Verified: no scored critical-mineral exposure. This company's dossier carries no `material_exposures` entries. That can mean its production is genuinely outside the critical-minerals set this platform scores (e.g. a precious-metals-only miner) — or simply that no exposure entries have been populated for it yet; no field on this dossier distinguishes the two, so treat "0" here as unpopulated or inapplicable, not as a reviewed-and-cleared verdict. We found no critical-mineral exposure in the sources we checked for this company; absence from our corpus is not evidence that the company has none.
4iG Nyrt. is Hungary's largest telecommunications and IT group, formed through a wave of state-encouraged consolidation: it holds Vodafone Hungary, DIGI Hungary, Antenna Hungária and the One Hungary broadband brand, and telecom/IT distribution makes up the large majority of group revenue and EBITDA. Since 2023 it has built out a much smaller but fast-growing Space & Defence segment (subsidiary 4iG SDT), which in October 2025 acquired controlling or minority stakes in several former state defense-industrial assets (Aeroplex aircraft MRO, Arzenál Fegyvergyár small-arms, minority positions in Colt CZ Hungary and Rheinmetall Munitions) alongside its own directly-owned REMTECH drone plant, a satellite programme (HUGEO built by Northrop Grumman; HULEO Earth-observation satellites planned in-house from ~2026), and mortar/ammunition maker Hirtenberger Defence Systems, in which 4iG S&D holds 51% after Czechoslovak Group (CSG) acquired the other 49% in March 2026 (previously 100%-owned by 4iG).
4iG's core telecom/IT business is an operator and equipment distributor, not a manufacturer, so it carries minimal direct upstream mineral exposure there. The exposures below apply to the narrower, directly-owned manufacturing arm of 4iG SDT:
drone/counter-drone motors and actuators (REMTECH, Rotors & Cams Zrt / RAC Antidrone Zrt) and in satellite reaction-wheel/actuator hardware (HULEO); China holds the overwhelming majority of global rare-earth-magnet processing capacity, making this a concentration risk with no near-term substitute for high-performance motors.
for space-grade solar cells and gallium compounds underpin the RF/power semiconductors used in satellite and drone communications payloads; both have China-concentrated primary/refining supply and are subject to China's 2023-25 export-licensing regime.
avionics; supply is concentrated in a handful of upstream producer/refiner jurisdictions with periodic conflict-mineral sourcing scrutiny.
concentrated in the DRC with downstream refining concentrated in China.
brass ammunition casings at Hirtenberger Defence Systems; a bulk input rather than a scarce one, but still policy-sensitive given rising export-tax and smelting-capacity actions globally.
Hirtenberger; China's late-2024 antimony export controls make this a live, actively-restricted material.
Note: 4iG's link to the Lynx KF41 armored-vehicle programme (built by Rheinmetall Hungary Zrt in Zalaegerszeg) is an indirect, minority stake held through VAB Kft — not a 4iG-manufactured product — so heavy-armor alloy materials (chromium, vanadium, tungsten, niobium) are not attributed here.
2026-09-09 (Step 3.8 top-up): added one named counterparty, Northrop Grumman (supplier — prime contractor for the HUGEO satellite), sourced to 4iG's own press release already cited above. No other claims re-opened.
